‘Victory at Last’ is a stylish and unique full-size pocket square in silk and has been created in collaboration with leading ‘painter of speed’ John Ketchell. His semi-abstract impressionist style captures speed and drama at the same time as delivering accuracy of reproduction, such that the subject seems to burst into life.
For the original acrylic on canvas work, John was inspired by the famous moment in motorsport history when Aston Martin won Le Mans outright in 1959. In the race, the DBR1 of Roy Salvadori and Carroll Shelby finally achieved victory for Aston Martin, which had entered every Le Mans since 1931.
The artwork is reproduced with a good balance of colour between the printed and reverse sides of the silk pocket square so works perfectly with any pocket square fold. The image is framed by the pocket square’s pale green border and racing green hand-rolled & hand-sewn hem.
'Victory at Last' is presented in a complimentary Otway & Orford branded gift box with its blueberry-coloured lid and pale blue base. Inside each box, the high-quality classic motor racing silk pocket square is tissue-wrapped and accompanied by a card telling the story of the artist and his vibrant artwork.
